The Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center, Inc. is a Non-Profit Primary Care Community Health Center near Sonora California, in the small town of Tuolumne, that serves the Native Americans community and is also open to all members of the public. Our 11,000 square foot, state of the art facility, in Tuolumne has 8 exam rooms and 2 procedure rooms, an in-house lab and in-house pharmacy. We also have a second Community Health Center in Sonora which includes a Dental Center.

The County of Tuolumne (population 57,000) was incorporated in 1850 as one of the original 27 counties in the State of California. Stretching from the foothills to the crest of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Tuolumne County is both a recreation paradise and a wonderful place to live. The County contains historic gold mining towns, the pristine Emigrant Wilderness, world-renowned Yosemite National Park, and numerous lakes, rivers, ski resorts and golf courses. The County is home to several live theater production companies, art galleries and wineries. Its proximity to San Francisco (2.5 hours) and Sacramento (2 hours) makes the County accessible.

  • Preference in filling vacancies will be given to qualified Indian Applicants, in accordance with the Indian preference Act (Title 25, U.S. Code Section 472 and 473) and Public Law 93-638, provided the applicant has submitted appropriate verification of Indian preference for employment.
