Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center (TMWIHC) is proud to celebrate another incredible Back to School Bash, held in partnership with Cover’s Apple Ranch during their annual Touch-a-Truck event.
On Saturday, July 11, families from across the region gathered for a day of fun, community connection, and back-to-school preparation. Thanks to the support of our staff, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners, the event welcomed more than 1,400 attendees, making it one of the largest Back to School Bash events to date.
Throughout the day, TMWIHC distributed 850 backpacks filled with school supplies to students ages 4–18, helping families prepare for a successful school year. In addition, our medical team provided 55 FREE sports physicals, ensuring student-athletes were ready to participate in their upcoming school activities.
Families also enjoyed all the excitement of Cover’s popular Touch-a-Truck event, including tractors, dump trucks, emergency vehicles, hands-on activities, and the crowd-favorite Dozer Crush. Combined with health resources, community organizations, and family activities, the event created a memorable experience for children and adults alike.
“Each year, our Back to School Bash continues to grow because our community comes together to support local families,” said Becky Shokraii, Chief Administrative Officer at Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center. “This year’s event exceeded our expectations, with 850 backpacks distributed, more than 1,400 community members in attendance, and 55 free sports physicals completed. None of this would be possible without our dedicated employees, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who share our commitment to helping students start the school year healthy, prepared, and confident.”
Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center extends its sincere gratitude to Cover’s Apple Ranch, our generous sponsors, community vendors, volunteers, and every TMWIHC employee who helped make this event possible. Your dedication and generosity continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.
We are honored to serve our community and look forward to welcoming everyone back next year for another unforgettable Back to School Bash!
